This all-level vinyasa flow class invites you to be in your body and build your strength from the inside out. Yoga philosophy believes that when our insides are strong, we can enter the world with softness and grace, knowing that no matter what, we have got this. As part of this class, you are asked to be curious about your body, breath, and mind. You are encouraged to try new things, explore your edges, define your boundaries, and determine when to rest.


 

What is vinyasa flow? According to Yoga Journal, “Vinyasa is derived from the Sanskrit term Nyasa, which means “to place,” and the prefix vi, “in a special way”—as in the arrangement of notes in a raga, the steps along a path to the top of a mountain, or the linking of one asana to the next.” Vinyasa Flow combines Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vini yoga, which marries the flow of yoga asana (poses) with breath.


 

This class is a vibrant blend of empowerment and exploration, perfect for everyone! When we say perfect for everyone, what do we mean? You may not be able to do every single posture ‘perfectly.’ You’ll be challenged in some way in every class – mentally or physically. Part of building up a yoga practice is learning when to ease back from a pose and when to breathe into a pose. It’s a balance. Your yoga is about you navigating that balance. So no, there’s no class you can’t do. There will be some postures in a class that you can’t do… yet. But that’s a good thing! You do what you can, and you rest when you need; eventually, over time, you’ll be able to do a little more.


But first and foremost, try to approach your practice with kindness and empathy. And try to let go of your expectations! It’s not about doing every pose. It’s about connection.
